Klotte Dates

Kloteh date or Kholeteh date is one of the moist or semi-moist dates of Iran and has a relatively moderate juice. Dates have a soft flesh and are easily chewed in the mouth. This fruit is initially red in color and looks very similar to Mozafati dates. It also has good quality, and is one of the important commercial varieties, especially the export of Klotte dates in Iran.
Harvesting of Kloteh dates starts at the beginning of September. In fact, from the beginning of September to the end of September is considered the time of harvesting or ripening of these dates. In the southern cities of Iran, whole dates are harvested well. A large number of cultivated lands in these cities are also Kloteh dates. Of course, don’t be surprised if in the southern cities this date is called by other names such as Klotte date or Karite date. Apart from Jiroft, the dates of Anbar Abad region also have good quality and are considered to be one of the first class dates in general.
The palm of this date is a type of tall palm and there are many palm groves in Kerman province and especially in Jiroft region. It takes about 7 to 10 years from the time of planting to the time of fruiting. Fortunately, the product of these regions is of such high quality that it has been able to introduce itself well among domestic and foreign people and is considered one of the best-selling types of dates in Iran.
Today, whole dates are sold in many cities of Iran in different packages, and the Persian Gulf countries and some European and American countries are also considered customers of this date.
The overall appearance of the date is similar to that of the Mozada date, with the difference that its texture is slightly firmer.
Due to its high quality and relatively reasonable price, this date always has a suitable domestic and international market. So that it is considered one of the most important figures of Iran’s date export. These dates are sold in different packages or in bulk to the consumer market. And the most important point in the presentation and supply of this date is the proper quality of this species.
Dates generally have a very warm nature, so it is very suitable for people who have a cold nature. This date is one of the most valuable dates in Iran economically and commercially and is also known as one of the most important agricultural products of Iran.
The diversity of the date palm is large, so that in most of the date-growing areas of Iran, there are palm groves, and in each region, its species are slightly different. This difference is the reason for the shape and size of this date.
The height of this date varies from 2.5 to 4 cm depending on the place of harvest. In general, the moisture content of Koliteh dates varies between 14 and 22%, which again depends on the climatic conditions of the place of cultivation, the time of harvest and the quality of Koliteh dates.
The taste of Klotte dates is excellent. For this reason, it has a good reputation among people. This date, along with additional dates, experiences the highest sales in the holy month of Ramadan. For this reason, its price is slightly higher in the holy month of Ramadan than in other seasons.
The soft and crispy texture of the flesh of this date has made it easy to call it a nutritious snack. Because in addition to its good meat, it has enough minerals and vitamins that it is known as one of the richest dates.
This date is one of the middle clay dates. It is also considered one of the biggest dates in Iran. And it has a hard core that does not stick too much to the meat. The fruit cap is usually separated from the core.
Whole dates are consumed in different ways, after washing them, they are used as snacks, appetizers, or by removing the core and preparing the dates in different ways, such as:

    It is used in many cakes and foods. The juice of this date is also used to produce all kinds of drinks and industrial alcohol, and it is a very useful date.
    Due to the semi-moist nature of the whole date, it is recommended to store this date in cool temperatures after harvesting. The best temperature for keeping dates is lower than 5 degrees Celsius. It is better to keep these dates in sterilized and completely hygienic environments. And after washing and drying, it should be packed so that this environment should not be a humid environment.
